Home 9 Issue 9 Me Will Never Be a Game by Camryn Wilkinson

Camryn Wilkinson, age 14

I wrote this song at the WriteGirl Songwriting Workshop to express that being you is cool, and you can do what you want without being ashamed of it.

Me Will Never Be a Game

I have to say I like pink
To go on walks
To learn a new language
And no one can say a thing

The pink part I want it all in my hair
Those walks in another world and I don’t care
The language is Japanese, it’s such a swing
And no one can say anything

There are so many things that cause us pain
So many things that make our life rain
Sometimes it feels like a train

But I choose to wear cat ears to school
Cosplay in public because it’s cool
Being me will never be a game
